This page covers classic dining sets in hand-carved cherry, from the table to the sideboard. The photographs below show vetrine, chests of drawers, tables and chairs in a classic style. The text explains when a fixed table makes sense, how to choose a finish and which sideboard completes the room.
When a fixed table makes sense
A fixed table suits a dining room that seats the same number of people most days. The Gran Guardia Fixed Rectangular Table by Francesco Pasi measures H 79 x W 200 x D 110 cm, with carving made entirely by hand in solid cherry. At that size it seats diners along both long sides without leaves to store. For a stone top instead, see an italian marble dining room table.
Choosing a finish: patina, cream or cherry
Gran Guardia pieces come in White lacquer with silver patina, Luxury Cherry, or Luxury Cream and Luxury Hazelnut with hand-painted details. The Gran Guardia Dining Chair 2010 by Francesco Pasi takes those finishes, with gold leaf or silver leaf decoration and fabric in category A, B or C. Prefer leather? A carved sideboard to complete the set
The Opera Shaped Sideboard by Francesco Pasi, with carved "B" decoration, two doors and three drawers, measures H 106 x W 210.5 x D 54 cm. Its uprights are 80 mm solid wood with carving finished by hand, and the top is 29 mm cherry blockboard. Its doors and drawers are solid wood, 28 mm thick. The photographs below show classic vetrine and chests of drawers that sit well beside a sideboard of this size. Its Luxury Cream or Hazelnut finishes sit close to the Gran Guardia palette.
